This project is one of my favorites in production design. The challenge? It was a blend of tabletop, stop-motion, and real shoot—a technical puzzle that required green screen backups in some parts and long stretches of patience for stop-motion sequences.
Time was our biggest race. I was constantly moving between two massive sets:
– One for filming, which included three smaller sets—real shoot, tabletop, and stop-motion—each alternating for different scenes.
– One for a photo shoot, managing nearly 10 layout concepts simultaneously.

I was incredibly lucky to work with Director Joseph Joo, Photographer Đỗ Sỹ, and an experienced production team who supported us every step of the way.
And in the end, great teammates make great projects: anh Duy, Trường, Hiển, Gấu, Hiên – without you guys, I can’t deliver it that well.
The photo shoot seamlessly matched the concept and lighting of the film, ensuring cohesive visual storytelling across both mediums. Every shot felt like an extending the film’s world, maintaining the same mood, tone, and artistic direction with various occation.

Huge thanks to the agency and client for daring to choose a complex treatment—because without that bold decision, we wouldn’t have achieved such a high-quality final product.
